| P(06-1) | Assimilation of Open Source Software in Science and Engineering Education
RA1: (10 Post) Eligibility :
Graduate Engineer in any discipline with BE/B.Tech.
(or equivalent) with a good knowledge of Python. Good written
communication is essential. Prior association and interaction with the
FOSS community is essential. Contributions to existing FOSS projects is
an added advantage. Exposure and knowledge of matlab or scilab or
mathematica is useful. Teaching experience, instruction design, course
material development experience are highly desirable. Candidates with
additional qualifications like participation in GSoC will have special
consideration.
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.16800-25000/- p.m.
Job Profile : Creation of course content including, slides, written materials, spoken tutorials, reference manuals, teachers handbook, exercises, solved problems etc. and adapt existing courses.
SA: (2 Post) Eligibility :
Graduate Engineer in any discipline with BE/B.Tech.
(or equivalent) with 2+ years of GNU/Linux system administration
experience, capability for setting up complex sites, manage DNS, mail
services and list servers. Setup networking, maintain mirrors and
backup systems. Experience with preparation of live CD, handling
automated installation on large number of computers. Familiarity with
video content, storage and delivery will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of high performance/throughput systems, clusters etc. is
valuable. Knowledge and experience of managing Windows based systems
and networking is valuable.
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.16800-25000/- p.m.
Job Profile : Setting up and maintenance of fossee.in, scilab.in etc. Managing the
various hardware and networking resources used by the project and
various others.

Job Profile : Efficient coordination of video recording and post production.

Job Profile : Coordination post production activities including editing, uploading
on server and transmitting through web. Interaction with receiving
institute for course contents etc.
EA: (1 Post) Eligibility :
Post Graduate / BE / B Tech in any discipline with 2 years relevant
experience in journalism.

Job Profile : Excellent communication, writing and editing skills with experience in
web content design and distance education.
RA1: (5 Post) Eligibility :
Graduate engineer in Electronics/ Communication with a minimum 6 month
relevant on experience.

Job Profile : Management of satellite/ leased lines, troubleshooting of VSATs,
Routers and modems. To handle multi location video conferencing by IP
multicast/ broadcast.
VT: (5 Post) Eligibility :
Degree/ Diploma in video production with 2 year
experience or Sr. Secondary (10+2)+ITI
with 3 years experience.
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.9800/- p.m. + HRA
Job Profile : Should work with audio/video capturing, recording and processing.
VE: (5 Post) Eligibility :
Graduate with two years of experience.

Job Profile : Should edit video recordings with professional software. The
knowledge of photography and working in educational instituions are
desirable.

Job Profile : Handle video cameras and integrating them with other equipment for
