(Department of Science & Technology)   Position & Salary Research Associate/Senior Research Fellow (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.18000/- p.m. + HRA Qualification M.Tech Remote sensing with M.Sc Physics or B.E Electronics. Candidate should have adequate image processing competence and experience particularly satellite radar data. Preference would be given to the candidates with good proficiency in computer programming in C/C++, VC++.Net. This project involves field work in high altitude Himalayan region. Job Profile Understanding various formats of satellite data products, developing code to read the data, registration of radar images, performing number of operations on images.   Position & Salary Research Associate/Senior Research Fellow (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.18000/- p.m. + HRA Qualification M.Tech Remote sensing with B.E Electronics or else M.C.A with adequate experience in developing code for processing SAR data and developing models for snow characterization based on SAR data. Job Profile Developing code to read SAR data and registration of radar images, performing number of operations on SAR images, development of graphical user interface for the software on Linux and Windows, visualization of images.     Project Code, Project Title & Funding Agency 10ISRO004 : "Monitoring Snow & Glaciers of Himalayan Region -Phase II" (INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATION/DEPARTMENT OF SPACE)   Position & Salary Research Fellow (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.15000/- p.m. + HRA Qualification M.Tech Remote sensing with one year experience or M.Sc Geoinfomatics with two years experience working in processing and interpretation of optical remote sensing data particularly for snow and glacier related studies. Job Profile Image processing of optical remote sensing data for interpretation and analysis of glacier and snow related features. This project involves field work in high altitude Himalayan region.     Project Code, Project Title & Funding Agency 11DRDO004 : "Combining Passive and Active Microwave Observations for Improving Snow Parameters Estimation over Himalaya" (Defence Research & Development Organisation)   Position & Salary Research Fellow (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.15000/- p.m. + HRA Qualification M.Tech Remote Sensing with M.Sc Physics or any science. Experience in image processing and computer programming will be preferable. Job Profile Understanding various formats of satellite data products including active and passive microwave data and registration of microwave images and performing various operations on images using existing softwares. This project involves high altitude field work in winter season in the Himalayan region.   The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project.
