The requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below:   Project Code, Project Title & Funding Agency 11DST078 : "IITB-Centre of Excellence in Climate Studies (IITB-CECS)" (Department of Science & Technology)   Position & Salary Research Associate (1 Post ) Consolidated salary Rs.24000/- p.m. + HRA Qualification BE/BTech/MTech (post-graduate degree preferred) in Energy Science & Engineering, Environmental Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines OR MA/ MPhil (economics, geography, applied statistics or related social science disciplines) / MBA. Some research experience and interest in the energy, environment, climate change area desirable. Good quantitative and analytical skills required. Field / survey experience is a plus. Job Profile The assessment of vulnerability to climate change and the evaluation of adaptation options. Two key regions / sectors of concern are dryland agriculture and urban settlements. The RA will support ongoing research related to vulnerability and adaptation in these contexts. The RA will also work on adapting / developing conceptual and theoretical frameworks appropriate and relevant to Indian / developing country contexts, through an extensive critical review of existing approaches. Compiling and analyzing data for indicators of vulnerability, adaptive capacity. Evaluating options for reducing vulnerability and enhancing adaptive capacity. Developing alternative / contextually relevant theoretical frameworks and approaches. Writing technical papers based on the work. Also data collection and analysis, mathematical modeling, documentation and technical report writing.   The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project.
