About the project: Tata Centre for Technology and Design at IIT Bombay was established in 2014 with support from the Tata Trusts. The centre aims to develop solutions to challenges faced by resource-constrained communities within India and across the world using an end to end innovation approach. Through this process the centre aims to develop human resources who are trained in technology, design and entrepreneurship by way of project work, coursework and field practice. The centre nurtures next generation leaders in engineering and business fields who deal with pressing problems in society in the context of complex economic, social and environment factors.
Position & Salary
Sr. Project Technical Assistant (1 Post
) Consolidated salary Rs.30000 - 42000 + Rs.4000.00/- Out Of Campus Allowance (if applicable) p.m.
A bachelors degree in graphic design or a related field with 2 years relevant experience. However, those with a bachelors degree in another field with technical training in graphic design and 2 years experience can also apply. Knowlege in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, is preferred.
Estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes for the task;
Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design; Roadblocks
developing design briefs that suit the requirement
thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and developing interactive design;
Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time;
Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to managers;
Working with a range of media, including computer-aided design (CAD) and keeping up to date with emerging technologies;
Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work;
Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts ready for print;
Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.
Proven UI experience.
Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio.
Solid experience in creating wire frames, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
Passion and enthusiasm for design, with a creative flair;
A flexible approach when working in a team;
Excellent communication skills in order to interpret and negotiate briefs with clients;
Good presentation skills and the confidence to explain and sell ideas to clients and colleagues;
Time management skills and the ability to cope with several projects at a time;
Accuracy and attention to detail when finalizing designs;
Being open to feedback and willing to make changes to your designs;
Effective networking skills to build contacts.
