and tenable only for the duration of the project. The requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below:
Project Code, Project Title & Funding Agency
16DSTID002 :"Analysis and design of deformation processes for mixtures of metallic powders and polymer matrix"
(Department of Science & Technology-International Division)
About the project: The project is for 2 years and involves experimentation and analysis of experimental data.
Position & Salary
Research Associate (1 Post
) Consolidated salary Rs.38000/- p.m. + HRA
The candidate should be a fresh Ph.D. in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Materials/ Production / Tool Engineering from a reputed University/Institute, with the topic of the thesis in line with the work description given below. The candidate should have had first class career throughout, i.e., at Graduation as well as during post graduation. Those having at least 3 years of industrial / research experience after M. Tech/ME in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Materials/ Production / Tool Engineering from a reputed University/Institute, in the field relevant to the description of the work, may also apply. It is important for the candidate to say how he/she would be able to contribute to the work profile as described below.
The candidate will be expected to understand the flow laws of metals, polymers, and the mixture of metal powder with polymers. During the project, the candidate will develop an understanding of the ideal flow theory, theoretical aspects of ideal flow theory and work on its application to metal powder polymer mixture.
The candidate will work to establish constitutive laws, study the material response to
biaxial and triaxial stress and strain and bring out the effect of powder loading on the mechanical and flow behaviour at different temperatures. This will be done from several tests performed on samples made from such mixtures.
The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the
. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
