About the project: The National Centre for Aerospace Innovation and Research (NCAIR) is a collaborative consortium of the Indian aerospace manufacturing sector, Government of India and academia providing research and technology services to its affiliates. The centre undertakes R&D projects for its partners, conducts workshops, and provides consultancy services in the field of aerospace materials and manufacturing. Position & Salary
Project Research Assistant (2 Post
) Consolidated salary Rs.21000 - 31000/- p.m.
BE/B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, 1-2 years of experience in Toolpath planning, cutting tool selection, and fixture design. Knowledge of CNC machine tools, controllers, and manufacturing processes particularly machining(turning, milling), Programming/Software skills required (one or more): i) PowerMILL, FeatureCAM, Siemens NX CAM, ii) CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks. iii) C/C++, MATLAB
The candidate would be keen to work in the area of manufacturing process optimization, particularly machining of aerospace materials.
The scope of research work will include one or more of the following:
i) Manufacturing process planning for aerospace related components: machining strategy selection, cutting tool selection etc.
ii) Cutting force modeling and optimization.
iii) Tool wear/life analysis and optimization.
iv) Toolpath strategies for efficient machining and higher productivity.
v) Machined surface roughness/quality improvement.
The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the
. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
