About the project: "IMPLEMENTATION OF 70 LAKH SOLAR STUDY LAMPS IN THE STATES OF ASSAM, BIHAR, JHARKHAND, UTTAR PRADESH AND ODISHA (THROUGH EESL & IIT BOMBAY)" (Ministry of New And Renewable Energy)
About the project: The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India has sanctioned a scheme to disseminate 7 million solar study lamps to school children in the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh. The project objectives are: (a) providing clean light for study purpose to rural school-going children through solar study lamp (b) localization of solar energy through skill and knowledge transfer to local people and creating livelihoods through their involvement in assembly, distribution and repair-maintenance of solar study lamps. IIT Bombay is the central coordinating agency for this project, which will be executing by collaborating with multiple partners (NGOs, Livelihood Missions, Education Institutions, etc). To meet the objectives, the project envisions to build capacity of the local communities across the intervention states, setup and manage local assembly and distributions centers where the lamps will be made, and subsequently provide after-sales service through further localized service centers. Project duration is 2 years. A pilot implementation of the above scheme was carried out in 2014-2016 by IIT Bombay, the details of which can be found www.soulsiitb.in
Position & Salary
Senior Project Manager (2 Post
) Consolidated salary Rs.67000 - 91000 + Rs.8000.00/- Out Of Campus Allowance (if applicable) p.m.
1. M Tech (Operations Management)/ MBA (Operations/ Project Management related) or equivalent from leading institute with minimum 8 years of relevant experience in supply chain, operations management, project management in Solar business/ renewable energy sector (preferred).
2. BTech/BE /MA/MSc/MCA or equivalent with minimum 10 years of in supply chain, of relevant experience in supply chain, operations management, project management in Solar business/ renewable energy sector (preferred)
Communications, Team Management, Project & Operations Management, Report & Proposal Writing, Negotiation, Risk Management
External Interactions and Liaisoning
1.Preparation of project proposal, project scope, budget and schedule for project implementation in various states in consultation with key stakeholders and funding agencies (existing and new).
2.Coordination of review meetings, preparation & submission of progress reports with stakeholders and funding agencies and other external agencies.
3.Coordination of tender related documents, and shortlisting of vendors as per norms.
4.Coordination to ensure project execution within defined budget and timelines, and as per scope.
5.Ensure proper record keeping and documentation of all project activities at various levels.
6.Identify risks and plan mitigation; help mitigate delays and issues in timely manner.
7.Willingness to travel as and when required
8.Any other responsibility as assigned related to the project.
9.Develop and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and templates for effective operations, including manpower training and supply chain activities.
10.Plan and Schedule training, handholding, monitoring of all field activities.
11.Plan and manage the supply of raw materials & spares from vendor to project locations, manage relations with suppliers, address and plan resolutions of supply issues and manage vendor quality
12.Develop quality assurance schemes and ensure quality control at all levels, of product, and process
13.Manage project team to execute operations of the project effectively and efficiently, and assuring quality of work; Address questions and concerns of project team, management and key stake holders in professional and confident manner
14.Coordination with various departments of IITBombay, as required.
15.Willingness to travel as and when required
